Some of the machines in our office show 56 bit encryption after installing
the ie6 sp1. How can I upgrade them to 128?

Problems with 128-Bit Encryption Pack After Uninstalling Service Pack 1
If you uninstall Windows 2000 Service Pack 1 (SP1) from a computer that has
Windows 2000 High Encryption Pack (128-bit) installed, the encryption may be
reduced to 56-bit.

sounds good, but I don't see any encryption packs for IE 6. I don't want to
install 4, 5, or 5.5.

Jim,

Thanks for the reply, and forgive my stupid questions, but if I install the
5.5 (our machines are all win2k), the internet explorer will still be
version 6, right?

Hi John - Not stupid at all. You'll still have IE6 - what you'll be
installing is the IE5.5 version of the encryption, NOT IE itself. In many
respects internally IE 5.5 and IE6 are very similar. That's why they have
so many Registry entries in common, for example. IE6 (in large part) adds
new stuff on top of the core 5.5 code.
