1270 safe to run dry?

Is it safe to run my Epson 1270 until an ink cartridge is so empty it no
longer prints?
 
no you will burn the printhead. and be sure to use epson ink so you
will not get a clog
 
If you haven't done anything to reset the ink counter you will be fine.
When the cartridge quits printing there is still some ink left in the
cartridge.

If you have reset it to always show full then you could be in trouble.
