100% explorer.exe CP usage

I am having a problem with explorer.exe intermitently using 97-98 percent of
my cp usage and causing my computer to slow down to a crawl. I have run
installed the latest and greatest SP2 from Microsoft, run spybot, Adaware,
Norton Anti virus, defragmented and even paid for an on-line chat with
Microsoft to whom I gave control of my PC to see if they could fix the
problem. Unfortunately the computer was running fine before I started chating
so the tech was not able to see what happens. I am on a home computer. This
has been going on for about a week now. Prior to this time, I never had
this problem. Any ideas out there?

Thank you Andrew. Your suggestion seemed to solve the problem for the
moment. I will be back if it pops up again.
