I have a Windows 2000 IBM Thinkpad that keeps spiking to 100% CPU
utlization. I followed the Knowledgebase article 295714 to break down the
system process. It seems that the threads that are causing the high
utilization have a start address 804190f0 that are associatied with the the
216K System process:
From pstask:
pid: 8 pri: 8 Hnd: 152 Pf: 3372 Ws: 216K System
tid pri Ctx Swtch StrtAddr User Time Kernel Time State
4 0 7825 8054F660 0:00:00.000 0:00:04.306 Ready
c 14 4 804190F0 0:00:00.000 0:00:00.000 Wait:EventPairLow
This machine is a 1GHz Pentium III with 512 MB RAM.
Any suggestions where to go from here?
Thanks,
Bob
