100% cpu usage and 100% Explorer.exe

I keep running into 100% cpu usage. When I click on Task Mgr., explorer.exe is what is running at 90-100%. When I did a file search I found 5 explorer.exe files. They are located on my hard drive in
c:\window
c:\windows\lastgoo
c:\windows\prefetc
c:\windows\drivercache38
c:\windows\service packfiles\i38
What should I do? I don't want to just delete a file if I don't know what will happen. I have XP home, 512 ram, I'm running Norton anti-virus, adaware and spybot. Any suggestions? Thanks.

pretty sure these other explorer files are not the
problem, as you would have more than one process in task
manager. What are you doing at the time? Tryt safe mode
see what happens there - it could be a conflict of some
sort.
