1 image- many different type of PCs needed

Im trying to create 1 image for our office. We have many models of optiplexes.
Id like to only make 1 image for all. Is there a place where XP looks for
INF files? this way I can put the inf files for all the hardware in the image
and when I install the image on each optiplex it will install the correct
driver.

Any help or suggestions would be great.

RIS is not an option, as I will be using ghost to create an image of this
machine and delpoy it thru winPE.
