I am attempted to create a bootable cd but all my attempts
have result in something that give the following message and
then fails to boot.

honestly im not thrilled with microsoft did on the bootable cd
maybe this is be design but it would be nice to know
if you put right contents on the cd you have created.
maybe there is imperative that i am missing but it seems
like the isocreation process is hack. why can i just
say make an iso. not this hd2iso dreck.
my two bits
thanks,

Looking at step 2. of your instructions what does:

"2. EWF with RAM overlay configured trough registry only."
mean?

thanks

RAM EWF have two standard ways to be configured.

Trough hidden partition residing on your disk. Or trough settings in registry. Since that hidden partition is almost impossible to
be transferred to CD you need to configure EWF so that it do not require that partition.
This partition is created during the FBA phase if you do not disable it in TD. If you have SP2 in documentation you will find more
infos about this if not please read my posts on Reg RAM EWF subjects.

Slobodan
