when playing neverwinter nights i get that error message
when it crashes to desktop, the first module is always
the .exe file, the rest are files in the system32 folder.
Max Payne 2 also crashes to desktop after a while but
with no error message.

My system is perfectly capable of running these games,
2.2BG AMD chip, 512mb ram, geforce fx 5600 powerpack,
should be no trouble. But widows seems to hate me, any
idea's why? I've tested it heavily, changed out every
part and done every possible combination, it's not
hardware. It's windows, and i'm hating it. I've updated
windows, no effect.

What size power supply do you have? Do you have adequate cooling? It could
also be the motherboard, memory, etc... Just because a system is fast,
doesn't mean it's going to be stable. It's one of those, you get what you
pay for. A cheaper motherboard may have everything that the more expensive
one has, but who knows about the quality of the parts or the quality of the
manufacturer supplied drivers for it will be.

a 350w psu, big fat fan with solid copper base it runs on
average at 3500 rpm, chip temp is 58C and case temp is
38C, ABIT NF7-S Mobo. I didn't skimp on the prarts, i'm
fairly sure it's either underpowered or wondows is evil.

I agree that Windows can be evil. A 350Watt power supply should be
adequate, but then again, it depends on what else you have in the box. Did
you install the ABIT drivers for your board? My bet at this point would be
either power or memory though. You should try to find a memory test program
(something that really tests it hard).
