Our office Outlook is experiencing connectivity issues during send / receive
all.

Error message is "sending reported error (Ox800ccc0f): The connection to
the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact your server
administrator or ISP. The server responded: 553."

I have tried to contact the ISP to no avail. They suggested I contact the
network admin (me). I suspect this has to do with recently installed
Symantec Internet Security. I have configured the firewall to permit Outlook
and disabled the windows firewall.

Note: Sometimes Outlook will go days with no problem and then suddenly the
error will occur again.

Thanks for your help!

Usually, this error relates to a timeout when trying to connect to the server
or an abrubt disconnect from the server.

When the erorr occurs are they during long lapses of inactivity? What is the
frequency of polling for email? Do you disconnect from the internet and leave
the programs open and active?

Symantec is notorious for not playing nicely with Outlook. Make sure you
allow Outlook through that firewall, even checking what ports you need to
enable. Also, disable antivirus scanning of incoming and outgoing email. This
can be the source of timeouts with the server and disabling this feature will
not compromise your security.
