Does anyone know what these error codes mean? I get them at the Blue Screen
Of Death when booting Vista for the first time.

Good Old Bump since I get the same... does anyone knows how to fix? I can
boot into Safe Mode just fine, but I have not been able to boot once into
vista any other way.

Does it happen to mention what file it is having an issue with? If so, please
post.

Since it boots into safe mode it is not the core os causing the issue. Most
likely something third party such as a driver/service. I have seen this error
with virtual cd/dvd drive software such as earlier versions of Daemon Tools.

Wow, you can boot into safe mode? I can't even boot into that!

My safe mode gets stuck on "crcdisk.sys".

I've read this is a common problem but no one seems to know what the problem
actually is.

Matt-

Try unplugging power to things, like case fans and see if it will get you
past that.
In my case, I'm drawing too much power and it causes a failure at that
point.

I unplug 1 fan and it boots....I plug the fan back in and it fails at
CRCDISK.sys

Which makes sense given that the greatest power load is startup. I'm
willing to bet you can reconnect the fan after startup with no further
effect.

G'day,

I'm using a laptop so I can't really unplug anything. :0(

I was, however, upgrading from XP Pro SP2, which in turn had been upgraded
from the OEM XP Home. I'm due to reformat it tonight so I'll try installing
Vista from scratch.

Cheers

Matt
