07 vs 03 subreport issue - not showing

A subreport that shows fine on the Access2003 machines does not show on the
Access2007 machine.

I had an identical issue resolved when I had some vb in the main report's
OnFormat that should have been in the subreport's OnFormat. When I changed
this it worked on the 07 machine (and continued working on the 03s).

In this case I have no vb in the OnFormat; but assume that it has something
to do with instance of the subreport. I guess 07 is less forgiving. But I'm
not sure what I should be looking for - - - - any main report vb that
references a control in the subreport?

Related; can one not reference a subreport control? or does one somehow
force the 07 to see the subreport with an instance causing event?....a bit of
advice is definitely welcomed. thanks ...

For anyone whom might read this; I rebuilt the Report by deleting the sub
report and reinserting the sub report - and now it works.

I'm glad it was that simple at least in terms of not having to actually
rebuild the subReport with all new controls.... I simply deleted the
subreport and then inserted it... Actually the subReport itself had a
subReport - and so I did it at both levels.

Finding a fix without knowing the 'why' is not totally satisfying...and
would welcome anyone's input on this is still welcome. I would much prefer to
fix such things by correcting code rather than a rebuild experiment - but
just don't know where to look or how to...
