Subreport Question

I have a main report and a subreport which are supplied by a query each. The
report is based on the text of a form where one selects their name to see
what projects are assigned to them. The issue is that if the main report
query does not return anything the subreport is blank. How do I show results
in the subreport even though the main report's query doesn't return anything?

What would you expect to show if there is no data? Where would you expect
this to display since if the main report doesn't return any records, then
there is no detail section in the main report?
