Zone Alarm Pro 6.1.737.000 memory usage?

XP SP2 connected to a commercial wireless hotspot with newly
installed XPpro, has vsmon.exe start with about 30 megabytes
of memory usage (on a 2GB machine) and grows after 30
minutes or so of busy internet activity (Thunderbird news
and Firefox) to over one gigabyte of memory usage. This was
noted because application programs became sluggish.

Also the page file usage rises from about 285 megabytes to
over two gigabytes. This can be recovered by restarting ZApro.

I did not have any of these problems with free ZA 5.5.

Is anyone else having this problem with ZApro?

I've heard of this problem before. Do a Google search on it.
vsmon.exe and RAM.

We're running out of legitimate firewall programs to choose from.
