I'd been considering water for a long time, google for the reviews,
performance is ok but not exceptional, I wouldn't call the zalman cheap
though.

I finally got around to ordering my first water system the other day, after
reading pages and pages of reviews, I chose the RBX Ultimate Plus kit from
here;
http://www.coolercases.co.uk/water_cooling_kits.htm

There are a few kits in there that are below the price of the zalman
resorator and will perform much much better due to the radiator and high
flow-rate pumps.

Things that worried me a bit;
How the f**k will I fit the thing into my case - I have a fairly large case
(not huge though), and I will probably have to do without one of my optical
drives, so the radiator fits nicely. The reseviour is going outside, bolted
to the back of the case with the pump just inside at the back.

If your very short of room forget watercooling and go for a high-end air
cooler, IMHO it'll perform better than the zalman, or get a big case and a
decent starter watercooling kit.

BTW it's the first time I've ordered from coolercases, if you want I'll post
back my experience of them and the kit, it arrives tomorrow and should go in
over the weekend.

Overpriced with sub-standard performance...
It is NOT a cheap alternative to liquid cooling, it is an expensive, poor
_water_cooler_ that looks nice.

The Zalman is not very good. It has a low flow pump, internal to the unit
and only has a half meter of lift. It's not cheap either, but looks really
cool, too bad it doesn't cool as well as it looks.

You can check on my site how I handled it, but well, i do have a big-tower
model case... (cheap piece of sh*t ;-) )

www.tvdh.tk , go to "main PC" (yeah sorry, the site's a bit slooowww...)

Wow, that looks sweet... all that in a little tower.... my tower is
nice and spacy, but hmm.. BIG ;-) Hm yeap, good job on the radiator...

Thanks, it was hard work, I only have one little mod to complete. It's
really hard (impossible) to bleed all of the air from the rad with the res
lower than the rad.

This is what I've got planned, unless someone knows a better way.
I'm going to drill and tap the threaded aluminium cap on the res and fit a
car tyre valve.
When I want to bleed the system I'll pressurise the res slightly using a
hand pump, bleed the res and repeat until it's clear of air then release the
pressure when I'm finished, hopefully without blowing any hoses off ;o)
