Use a firewall? Does it block Referrer? Probably. Some sites use
Referrer (from the browser) to track the prior page you were at when you
visit a new page. They want you to get to that page only from one of
their other pages, NOT from someone trying to link directly into their
web site.

Could be they change the structure (records) in their cookie but neglect
to check for old and new formats and just assume new format. Hence they
cannot read their old cookie sitting on your computer. So delete their
old cookie file (but it it's a gaming site then you have to wonder if
you really want to keep their cookie after the session is over).

Could be they demand the use of javascript but you have it disabled.
Could be you really weren't authenticated by your username and password
to access that page.
