I use yahoo messenger, and its working fine on vista ultimate. Try
reinstalling messenger. If that doesn't work, I don't know what to tell you.

I have bigger problems and absolutely no solution and I have been asking
questions and getting no help. So if you could direct yourself to my
question that would be great!

I am having trouble with 3 drivers at this time.
I cannot get Bluetooth to work on my hp dv2000t. I reinstalled drivers, and
would have fully functioning Bluetooth, and if I restart it hangs and
windows will not load. I have to boot to last know good working
configuration. Then Bluetooth no longer works and I cannot fix it.

I also cannot connect my iPod. It continues to search for drivers and
nothing. I cannot find any online, and I have installed iTunes and
uninstalled and still nothing.

Today I stuck my memory stick pro into my integrated memory card reader, and
it searched and searched for drivers. Nothing again. SO I looked for
drivers. Found them, installed them, and now all I get is a safely remove
hardware icon in the system tray. I cannot get to the actual device to
remove the pictures or see what's on it. OR DO ANYTHING...

I have been messing with this computer all dang day and I really need some
help. Please if you have these issues and have resolved them, help me too!!

Also if you have no issues and your plug and play devices work fine. Let me
know I want to know if there is something I am missing.

Thanks in advance!

Proof that one should wait on Vista for at least a year:

The drivers aren't available yet. I-Tunes doesn't work with Vista yet.
Why were you in such a hurry to install Vista?

Try using TCP View and see which port it is trying to initiate and see if
those ports can be established.

Other than that, contact Yahoo's support.

I would ignore the people that say ditch vista, I have yahoo loaded on TWO
different Vista machines (one is business edition adn teh other is Ultimate
x64). Just make sure you have downloaded the latest version and it should
work. You also might check the windows firewall to see if it is blocking
it. Do you have another firewall program loaded? See if it is blocking it
as well..

Good luck!
