Yahoo Chat not connecting

Hello, I have a problem with Yahoo chat, Eveytime I open a chat in the new yahoo messenger (7.0(7,0,0,437)) the tab "connect" becomes availble and when I click it nothing happens adn I close it out and when i re-try to open it nothing comes up, i also have reinstalled yahoo over 10 times and i aslo tryed an older version. I also cant get into chats on the yahoo website (chat.yahoo.com) or any chat clients. I am running on Windows XP and I belive i have service pack 2

Within the Yahoo chat application check the settings its using to try and connect.

Never used Yahoo chat so cant give you any precise instructions.

Also just a thought but see what your Firewall settings are from with Windows XP.
If you have got SP2 then it automatically enables the firewall.

But I'm sure somebody will be along in a minute to give you more info and help.
