XXCOPY like to CLONE XP or later

J

-->JD

All sources say you can NOT clone NT/2000/XP/2003 (NT based) machines y
using file copy ethods of XXCOPY.

What is the limitation of XXCOPY or file copy type utilities?

What does the new WIM (Windows Imaging Format - one used for SMS OSD) use?
I know this is file copy based - not imaged based (sector-sector).

You got it all screwed up. xCopy, not xxCopy, is file-based.
For people like you, use xxClone (see www.xxClone.com).
It's a simplified version of xxCopy.

XCOPY will clone XP,2000,2003, youre sources are on cloud 9.Actually its one
clone utility that does work (except with a RAID configuration).To clone
drive
C: to a new drive say D: on the same IDE chain,simply format the drive,go to
run,type:XCOPY C:\*.* D:\ /c/h/e/k/r Agree to all in the DOS window,D:
being the slave drive,however whatever letter its asigned will work,just type
in diffrent letter.

Hello;
Be advised the creators of XXCOPY has now released XXCLONE for Windows XP.
I have tried it and it seems to work just fine in creating a cloned hard
drive. And to my suprise, it was even bootable when it finished.
This is not a sales pitch, just some well intentioned pointers....
here is the link I used http://www.xxclone.com/download/xcln0310.zip

Thanks for sharing your experience. Is that still considered a
beta test, or is xxClone considered to be "released", now?
Did you have to go through a signup process to get it?
