XPe locks/freezes while looping a video

I'm having the same problem that the person in this post was having:
http://groups.google.com/group/micr...20729bc28b9?lnk=st&q=&rnum=1#39fb020729bc28b9
I'm not really sure of how my customer's video looping application is
implemented, but I have found that the problem occurs when do not use
their application and instead use Windows Media Player with the
'repeat' setting on. After about 15 minutes, the system completely
locks up (video stops, no mouse or keyboard activity recognized, can't
do anything and have to unplug the system to reboot). This problem
does NOT occur under XP Pro on the same device. My XPe database (SP2 w/
FP2007) is up to date on all of the latest patches too.

His problem was fixed by disabling the "Intel SpeedStep" setting in
the BIOS; I don't know what that is. My system does not have this
setting, unless there is an equivalent setting with a different name
(any ideas?). I tried replacing the old video driver with the absolute
newest one available from the Intel site, but the same result
occurred. One time I duplicated the error with the Task Manager
performance tab up and the memory usage appeared to be consistent. EWF
is not being used either.

I'm not sure what else to try from here.

I fixed the problem. According to the xpefiles posting below, the
problem was related to the "Intel Enhanced SpeedStep" processor
feature being enabled.

The XPe default power management profile, 'Presentation', enables this
feature. I changed the PM profile to 'Always On' and I haven't seen my
system freeze, even after I let it run for an hour, rebooted, and it's
been running for about an hour now without freezing.
