Hi

I've re-installed XP from scratch - several times - and updated to SP2. I
have SP2 in Add/Remove Programs and the 'spuninst.exe' in the
C:windows\$NtServicePackUninstall$\spuninst folders. I even switched the PC
off during one install, but it just restarted when it was stopped. I can't
repro. your problem ATM.

It needs to be checked in the RTM as well.

| That shouldn't matter in the RTM version. Only for the Beta versions.

Hi

'Show Updates' isn't enabled here on 2 'updated' partitions. One via WU and
one with the downloaded SP2 file. I can still see the uninstall entry for
SP2 in Add/Remove Programs on both partitions.

Ok, I checked, and dbl checked . . . still no SP2 uninstall file, and yes, I
also checked Show Updates in Add/Remove Progs.

I think I'm either going to try to redownload SP2 again, or order the CD!

Thanks to all for trying . . .

Hey moon,

Your problerm has been going on since 06:00 on 24th September, London time
and still no resolution. You will be better off doing a clean reinstall of
XP and all other applications. Just make sure you have copied your data and
mail before doing anything. Also make sure you have original CDs, product
serial numbers and most importantly Anti-virus CD!! You might want to run
the utility from:

http://www.magicaljellybean.com/downloads/kf141.zip

OR

http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/keyfinder.exe

to get Microsoft PIDs from your current system before wiping everything!!
