XP wont boot after power failure

Computer was on and unattended, not connected to internet
when power failure shut it down. On restart, I get a BSOD
saying "unmountable boot volume". I ran the diagnostic
disk that came with the Dell 8200 P4 computer, everything
OK after a 5 hour check.
I follow instructions on the BSOD, but it keeps coming
back to the same blue screen.
Help!

Your computer will not boot returning the
error "Unmountable boot Volume".

If the recovery console can be used then the command
chkdsk /f should be run from there. Failing that you will
need to run a windows XP repair.

Thanks, I'll try it from the command prompt. The drives all seem to be
working.

The chkdsk R trick worked perfectly, no data or program loss that I can see,
thanks very much
