i just want to find out the procedures i need to take to setup a windows
xp pro and win 2k server network.
Which is best to be used as the server.
they both connect to the internet via a hub but theres access problems
between the computers.

You would use the Win2k server as a server since that is a server
operating system, not WinXP. Since you really didn't tell us anything
about what you are ultimately trying to do, your network setup, or
whether you want a domain or workgroup, you can't get a more specific
