XP & 2K Adv Server sharing issue...

G

Greg

I have 2 machines on a LAN.
Win XP Pro
Win 2k Adv Server

They r both networked and can see each other in My
Network Places.
I set Permissions on the Win XP Pro machine's 2 hard
drives so that I can access them from the 2K Adv Server
machine.
I can access the Win XP Pro machine and see the shared
drives from the 2k Adv Server machine through My Network
Places, BUT when I try to access the shared drives,
access is denied.
For troubleshooting purposes, I set the shares and the
security to EVERYONE with full permission and I still get
denied access.

By the way, I CAN access the shared drives on the Win 2K
Adv Server machine from the Win XP machine with the same
permisions applied.

Is there somthing I missed?

Thanks

Could you be able to solve this problem?, same happend to me. The only way
to gain access is to activate de "guest" user, but I don´t think this is the
solution. Please if you could solve this, send me the solution.
Kind Regards.

if guest works, this is permission issue. try this net use
\\remotecomputername /user:username command.
