XP Wake-up ?

Is there anyway to get an PC running XP to start-up/wake-up automatically at
a set time?

I mean... assuming it isn't "Shutdown", but in "Hibernate" (for example) is
it possible?

The PC would be attached to a LAN wirelessly, if relevant, via a router.

Might be a stupid question, but had to ask...cos I don't know !!!

This would be a function of your computer's BIOS. When your
computer first starts up look for some notification of what key
to press to enter the Setup program. Once there, look around
for settings for things like "Wake on".

Good luck

Following up on my earlier response, there's no guarantee that
your computer will have this feature. Like I said, this is a
hardware issue and not all motherboards have this capability.

Also, see if your BIOS has a heading titled Power. I just
checked a system I'm working on, a Dell 2350, and the setting
to start at a preset time is located there.

Good luck

Yes you can. Be sure that hibernation is enabled at Control Panel/Power
options. Then set it up via Control Panel/Scheduled Tasks.

I don't think this works. During Hibernation the computer is OFF. OFF,
as in completely powered down. Since Windows is not running, there is
nothing to enable it to start a scheduled task or anythign else.
Initiating soemthign when the machine is powered off is a function of
the BIOS, if it supports such a feature.

Have you considered the "wake on LAN" option?
Then you can wake it up remotely at anytime even if it is shut off with the
power supply still switched on to power the NIC.
I haven't tried this with a wireless solution though.
