I have an issue with windows xp sp2 crashing when I try to view the printer
preferences on xp. The printer is a network printer running on windows 2003
x64.

I can view properties just fine.

This sounds like a DEVMODE mismatch issue. The x64 printer information have
a different size than what the x86 print driver expects. The manufacture
will need to correct the driver mismatch. What driver / model is this?

Every printer I try has this issue. They view fine on the server side. I
have installed the 32bit drivers on the server as well. All my printers are
HP 4100/4200/4050/4250/4345. The drivers are not the universal drivers that
HP offers I use the latest drivers from www.hp.com that is specific to the
machine. All PC6 drivers are used

We have the 4345 in use. The version we have on our x64 print server is:
x64 PCL 6
60.053.762.32

same version for x86

I don't suppose you have the R2 version of Server. If so install the print
management tools.

Did you migrate the printers from an x86 machine to the x64 machine?

I do have R2 installed. I will try installing management tools and see what
happens.
No migration, brand new installation. I have no issues when I use x64 pro
as a workstation. I think you were right on about the DEVMODE issue.
