Printer Preferences

Im running windows XP sp2 it seems that when you select a printer and try and
run properties nothing happens nothing ever shows. and when I select
Printing Preferences I receive a windows error message "Operation could not
be
completed" Dont know what changed but printer Preferences does not work.
If anyone knows a solution please let me know. I've already tried checking
the spooler and RPC, and Printer Spool Server and everything has been started.
I've already reinstalled the printupg.inf or printupg.PNF, and still
nothing, If anyone can help please let me know

You didn't tell us if this printer is operational. Does it print?

Nothing seemed to work so I just reinstalled XP and then all the other
drivers that I used to have, the Printer Properties started working
again.....wait for it.....but after I rebooted I started getting svchost
errors and it would just not go away... tried reinstalling XP again and the
errors
stoped. Then my antivirus ninstalled, so I reinstlled it. I also had to
use the instructions here at this web site cause my updated would not work
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/324516 after a few reboots
everything seemed to work

hope this helps
