XP- Shutdown Problem

When I do a normal shutdown, it appears to shutdown okay, however, I can't
restart the computer using the normal on/off button. Instead, I have to
unplug or switch off the power button on the back of my computer. Once that
switch is powered off, I can power it back on. Then the normal computer
push button will reboot my xp computer.

Any ideas what would do this?

It might be hanging up and not completing the shutdown process. After it's
powered down, press and hold the switch on the front for over 5 seconds.
Then see if pressing it again will turn on the computer.

Either way, you might try running MS's UPHclean to see if it helps. Search
MS or google for it.

IF no help, come back.

Problem was resolved by sending the AMD 4000 back and exchange installing
the AMD3800.
Thanks anyway. Issue was with the processor. From what I've read, I'm not
the only one having this issue.
