XP shared printer not accessable from Win98 PC

Curt

I upgraded one of my PC's from Win98 to WinXP. I have
shared the printers, that are locally attached to the XP
box but my 98 machine can not see them, or add them. The
network hardware has not changed, just the operating
system. Any Ideas?

a) Can the Windows98 PC see the files and folders on the XP PC. If not you
have a basic network configuration problems.... see:
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp/addxp.htm

b) If the 98 PC can see the files and folders on the XP PC, look in the
Printer Properties of the printer attached to the XP PC. If there is a
Security tab, ensure that everyone is given the correct permissions to be
able to print.

c) Ensure that the shared name of the printer is less than 12
characters/number and that there are NO SPACES in it.
