XP Services Timeout after Upgrading from Win2K

Upgraded Win2k Professional to WinXP Professional. Now it
is taking me a long time (10-15 minutes) to login. In the
system event log, there are many errors complaining about
failed services like:
----------
Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction
response from the ShellHWDetection service

Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction
response from the Schedule service.

Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction
response from the TapiSrv service
.... (many other similar errors)

Please help me... Thank you in advance!
