XP SP2 problems

Can't locate fix info. Have 2 problems after removing Windows XP SP1 and
then installing SP2 via CD. No bluescreen of death, yet. Error events as
follows:

On shutdown, get Event 10010 (source DCOM) saying The server
(981F122C-2982-4E91-AA88-E071D54F2A4D) did not register with DCOM within the
required timeout. System extremely slow in shutting down (as in 15 minutes),
also locks up if I go into System Properties and try Task Manager to get out.

On startup, slow to load and log shows error on source Service Control
Manager, Event 7011, Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction
response from the Netman service.

I use Norton as firewall, etc., and nothing is set for auto update. Windows
keeps trying to set itself for auto update.

Any ideas? Have run defrag, etc. Do clean boot? Try using Gateway "fix"
CD? Need to fix this before I toss in the CD to upgrade Office XP to Office
2003, so I can have fun with more Microsoft problems.

Thanx, Mari

Thank you, "S". I'll go to that site. I think the 10010 problem has gone
away. It appears that Windows XP was having problems accepting "no automatic
update". Problem w/Event 7011 continues; message varies from "Netman" or
"WZCSVC" or "ShellHWDetection". Whatever that problem is, it's now REALLY
making the hardrive grind on startup. I'll try to find on the eventID site.
