XP Pro wants to continuely install PCI device.......

I did a fresh install of XP Pro and when it finished booting I get a
"Found PCI device" and then it wants drivers. Well, usually I'll just
cancel this and install later. It will not let me do this . It
continuely keeps popping up and if I look in the Device Manager, there
are about 16 PCI devices listed. WTF is going on? I tried the XP disk,
Xfi disk, RAID floppy, it's frigin driving me nuts. It just stared
happening out of no where. The only thing I can think of is when
unplugging my IDE cable I maybe unseated my PCIx vid card and it keeps
wanting to install over and over. I haven't had a chance to try and
reseat yet. Man I hate/love computers. I teach it for a living so, I
must have a love/hate relationship with it. Thanks in advance.

Did you install your motherboard drivers? It sounds like you need to do
this.

Get drivers from:

1. The device mftr.'s website; OR
2. The motherboard mftr.'s website if hardware is onboard; OR
3. The OEM's website for your specific machine if you have an OEM
computer (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).

Read the installation instructions on the website where you get the
drivers.

To find out what hardware is in your computer:

1. Read any documentation you got when you bought the computer.
2. If the computer is OEM, go to the OEM's website for your specific
model machine and look at the specs (you'll be there to get the drivers
anyway)
3. Download, install and run a free system inventory program like Belarc
Advisor or Everest Home Edition.

Thanks, Elephant, but the Nvidia 6.70 nforce4 drivers will not install
because I cannot close the driver request window. I cancel it and it
reappears asking for a PCI device driver. I built the machine myself
and have been doing so since 1997. So I know what I'm doing, well,
never run into this issue before.

What about trying to install the chipset drivers in Safe Mode?

I've figured it out. It's my nForce4 AMD board with the Soundblaster
Xfi. Apparently it's happened with nearly everyone who has the same
combo. The Creative forums are chocked full of heated discussion.
Thanks for the help!
