PCI device

I have a Dell xps 400. It originally had Windows Media Center 2005 in. The
ctrl + f11 does not work to get the image from the image partition. I called
Dell and they refused to send me a backup CD(sorry no clue to where the
originals went.) They refused and wanted to charge me 49.95 to talk to them.
(took 45 minutes to find that out).
I gave up and put in Windows XP Pro. Everything was going fine until I
installed Service Pack 3. Then the sound card would not work because of the
High Definition Audio driver. To get rid of it I had to uninstall SP3. Now I
have a problem with a system device PCI driver. The install cannot find the
driver and continues to try to reinstall but can't find the driver.
The original (Creative Labs SB0460) sound card still does not work. I put in
an other one and that one works. I could stop there but I can't get the pci
from trying to install. And there is no place on the motherboard to plug in
the front panel for the head set and microphone.
Any help is gratefully accepted.

Tried that and Dell tech support was useless.

You don't need to call Dell support for this. Create an account at the
Dell Support Site, use the Service Tag number, and get all the correct
drivers without a single call.
