Silly question.
Have you permitted access to the files you want available by allowing the
sharing option under "Properties"?

I am having exactly the same problem. I had a perfect Lan setup beofre
installing service pack 2 now that I have installed it I am getting the
identicle problem you are having. I just spent 8 hours tryng to fix it and
search online for solutions but to no avail.

If anyone has a solution to this please post here..

Hello there,

I have the same set up I.E. XP(Pro) to XP(Home).

At present I am using the XP(Pro) connected to a 56kb modem and the XP(Home)
computer connectsto the internet through it.
They talk to each other via a crossover cable and can also access files I
have granted sharing permissions.

Previously I had the reverse set up.

I have been through just about all the problems that can happen.

However there are many causes and it is difficult to help if the questions I
ask are not answered, fixing the problem is usually a process of elimination.

So see my earlier response and if you are still suffering, let me know the
answer.
What I can say is that I am on SP2 and it has never been part of the problems.

regards

Hi Ken.. where did you make your original post then? I have not been around
that long so I don't know were all tthis started..
I do know howeven that many many poeple are having this same problem.. and
I only had it after installing SP2. The connections wizard does not resolve
the problem at all.. so what's the point of having the wizard if in the end
everything has to be done manually?
