XP loses view settings from desktop folders

I have some folders placed on my Desktop. I changed the view setting of each folder to DETAILS.
But every time I restart Wondows the settings are changed back to TILES.

I changed the ckeckbox REMEMBER EACH FOLDER'S VIEW SETTINGS in the folder options view window from marked to unmarked, but it didn't make any difference.

That is no big problem, only a bit uncomfortable.

Is there a way to solve this.

The Default for Windows XP is to remember the view settings for the 400 most
recently used folders.

View settings are limited to 400. Try the following link to increase those
settings to 8000:
