Can someone help me.

Windows did not start anymore after uploading some
software.
I finally set up Windows XP again. Now I get the message:
Windows could not start because of the following ARC boot
configuration problem:
Did not properly generate ARC name for HAL and system
paths.

Does anyone know what this is all about and how I can fix
it?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Daniel,

Either boot.ini is corrupted, or it's got an incorrect pathway. Boot the
WinXP CD and load the Recovery Console, run fixboot from the command prompt.
