Is there any way of changing drive letters in XP?
My hard drive is partitioned but XP has put the cd-rom
drive as D and the hard drives as C,E,F,G then the cd-r
as H.Is there any way to put the cd at the end like there
is with other versions of windows?

Hi, Dave.

Looks like you've not yet found Disk Management. This is a new built-in
utility that first appeared in Win2K. It does all that we used to do with
FDISK and Format.exe back in the MS-DOS days (create, delete, format
partitions) and some of the things that we used to do with Device Manager,
such as assign or reassign drive letters. There are several ways to get to
Disk Management; one is to type at the Run line: diskmgmt.msc

Take some time to get acquainted with Disk Management and its Help file.
There's LOTS of good information here, answering questions that Windows
users have been asking for years.

(In my computer, the DVD-ROM is V: and the CD-RW is W:. I like to keep them
far away from the beginning of the alphabet so that I don't have to
reshuffle every time I add, delete or reorganize my hard drives.)
