XP Boot Screen

Ive just done a fresh install and spent the day re-installing / updating
software and drivers.
Problem I'm having is when my pc starts up the XP boot screen animates very
slowly,- fades in from black at about a 2 frames a second then the little
blue scrolling bar at the bottom takes about 10 -15 secs to scroll accross,
after about 90secs of this it speeds up back to a normal pace and logs me in?
Ive checked "msconfig" and the starup up tab looks normal considering its a
fresh install -ive tried updating my graphics drivers (Radeon X1650) they are
ok, Im a fairly experienced user but strangly I cant find any answer to this
problem - This is kinda a last resort for me! Any advice will me much
apreciated! :) James

Hmmm How odd! OK I restarted in safe mode which didnt give me a boot screen -
just takes me straight to the welcome screen. So i was like ok ... I was just
gonna relay that back to u - but then when i reset and booted normally the
problem seems to of fixed itself?! Im not gonna ask to many questions...
seems ok now thats good enough for me lol. Anyway thanks for the swift reply

that is sooo odd. I have had the same type thing happen before. I don't
remember if it was boot screen/slow boot or what, but I too have had things
messed up like that and after booting into safe mode BOOM fixed.

wierd...
