Wont boot up

The power went out and now my computer wont boot up. It
goes to the screen that tells me it was shutdown
improperly and asks if I want to start windows in
safemode,last good configuration,etc, etc. None of these
work. How do I fix this without losing all my stuff? Ive
also tried repairing window in the past, but I always get
some prompt that I dont understand telling me it couldnt
find a needed file. Help Please!
