XP Activation

Hi hope someone can help a non-power user!
I bought a copy of Windows XP Home Edition as an old PC of
mine had died and I didn't have a Windows CD for it. After
many attempts to get XP to load the PC remained very
unstable - and I have since bought a new PC with XP on
etc. My question is that if I sell my spare copy of XP
will the buyer be able to use it? I am pretty sure I did
manage to activate XP on the old PC so will this mean the
buyer will be unable to activate on his machine?
The CD is the upgrade version of XP not the full version.

Thanks

Was the machine you upgraded installed with an OEM version of the previous
OS or not?

If it was.. Maybe not.. But chances are, probably so - as long as you have
removed it or the PC no longer exists.

It was loaded with an OEM version of Windows Me - so I
thought I would be able to salvage the PC with an XP
upgrade CD. But, for whatever reason (probably hardware)
it was v unstable - so I have basically wasted £90 which
is why I want to sell it on.
