XP 64 Bit and Xerox 8830 pronter

My company has a Xerox 8830 printer which works fine with 32-bit XP OS.
However, one of our designers obtained a Dell (Intel 64-bit) Workstation. We
downloaded the 64-bit driver Xerox specified, set up the IP address of the
printer, etc, etc.

Everything seemed to load fine. But when we tried to print a test page, we
get a cryptic message saying the test page failed to print, no explanation of
cause.

When we look the printer parameters, everything looks fine- the printer
model is identified on the correct port, so on.

The engineer who obtained the workstation has the administrator privileges.

Any information about what might be causing this problem? The engineer says
he has seen a lot of traffic on the internet about problems with XP 64 bit OS.

Thanks,

Dave

The driver is written by Xerox and it has to be written to correctly interface
with XP 64 bit so this is most unlikely to be an OS problem. I suggest you talk
to Xerox.
