Wrong aliases showing up in the To field

We are running Exchange Server 2003 in Cached Exchange Mode with
Outlook 2003. A little scenario: Imagine that we have a user named
Jane Doe-Williams. Her exchange alias is JDoe-Williams. A user
receives an email from Jane Doe-Williams. The user sends a new email
to Jane Doe-Williams by creating a new email and typing "W" in the To
field. Why in the world does her name show up as "Doe-Williams, Jane
<ADOE>" instead of "Doe-Williams, Jane <JDoe-Williams>" ? I hope I
haven't confused you all. Her alias is listed correctly everywhere in
AD. I don't understand this. Also I misspelled another user's name
when started working here a week ago. The name has since been
corrected but the misspelled alias still shows up in the To field.
Any insight? I'll post more info if needed. It's a bit hard to
explain without you actually being here.

That list of names you see popping up as you type a name into the To box is
coming from the Nickname, or autocompletion, cache and it has nothing to do
with the Contacts folder, the GAL, or AD. It's there because the user tried
to send a message to that address in the past. To delete it, use the arrow
keys to highlight the bad name and press Delete. If it's the only one, see

Sorry...but that's not the problem. That was the first thing I tried.
I can delete that name and send her another email, try it again and
it still happens. I've found where the wrong alias is listed. When I
open the global address book in outlook and check the "email address
field" -- I see the wrong alias for the two people in question. It
says: /o=xxxxx/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=WRONG
ALIAS. Now I'm trying to figure out how to change that. Any ideas?

Never mind. It's fixed now. Had to install Win2K support tools and
use ADSI edit to change the value.
