Write error on publishing

I have changed gif on homepage (Default.htm) on web on
PC. Now when I try to publish it to the www website, I
have a conflict with the Default.htm file. I can
choose "Publish Selected Files" but then I receive the
following error:

Server error: Write error on file ".Default.htm.tmp".

The www based web does not use default.htm as homepage
but index.html-- don't know if this is related.

Any suggestions please?

You need to contact your host and ask them to run a check on the extensions and/or check the
permissions for your account.
