Word 2002 and NAV 2009 issue

When I upgraded from NAV 2008 to NAV 2009 I had the following issue with Word
2002:
I could not overwrite any word file with a revised file of the same name on
my Floppy drive.
However, I could overwrite other apps files such as excel files on my floppy.
I also could write new word files to the floppy.
Norton says it's not their problem.
Also, when I uninstalled NAV 2009 and reinstalled NAV 2008, all was well
again with the floppy drive.
Any advice here?
Thanks

P.S.
After trying to overwrite a file with Word, the floppy could not be
formatted unless I rebooted.

Never ever read from, write to, or print from floppy with Word. These are
the most certain methods of ensuring document corruption.
Copy to the hard disc and work on the document from there, then copy back to
the floppy.
