Can't open up any .doc files?

Today all of a sudden I can't open any of my word documents? IDK if it has
anything to do with installing a office service pack but its not working now.
I even created new files and can't open them. All it does is open and it
says on the status bar "requesting file scanned" like usually and usually it
loads up, but it just sits there and freezing. IDK maybe it has something to
do with Norton Anti-Virus.

I'm running Word 2002 and NAV 2005 Internet Secruity

I've already tried the option in help in Word that detects and repairs
problems still doesn't work. And reinstalled it also still doesn't work.

Any help would be necessary!

Turn off the Office Plug-IN in NAV.
