Won't play on vcr

Morning,

This is my second movie. The first one is playing fine on my vcr.

This second one...I get the disc menu display. It plays on pc. Anyone have
any ideas what could I be doing wrong this time? It burns smoothly, no
glitches.

I've reburned it on 4 different CD-RW to be sure it wasn't the disc. The
counter goes on the vcr like it's playing but when I click (on remote)
'enter' or 'play' or 'title' I get that annoying 'no way' icon.

My thanks...jennifer

Graham, perhaps if I could answer all those questions I wouldn't need your
help:)
I've tried on everything.
The length is about 5 minutes.
I used 'me' and Moviemaker to author it as far as I know:)
I used the 'save to cd movie wizard' and all I get is the disc display menu
in the end(with no name or title).
And the 'recommended' format. Although I did try two others just for the
heck of it.

Today I 'somehow' clicked the right button to get it to my Roxio DVD Builder
and changed the wmv to mpg which I had been told before to try, I believe.
It worked!

In looking through old posts, did I see that wmv is not a format to burn to
cd or dvd? Is there another step I'm suppose to take after that to burn on
cd?
I'm only talking about little ditties, one song at a time here.

Jennifer,
I know what you mean.
Movie Maker only makes HiMat cd's, which should play ok on pc's but not
stand alone dvd players. You need third party software to make a vcd or
svcd.
From movie maker save the movie as a dv-avi file,
http://www.myvideoproblems.com/Tutorials/MovieMaker/HowToSaveDV-AVI.htm
then import this into Roxio, which I don't use I'm afraid and look for the
vcd/svcd options. Hopefully there will be a wizard, which you may have
already found, to follow.

If you need more help please contact me via my web-site or post a new
message here for someone else to answer for you.
