Converting files made on a DVD/VCR recorder

I made a DVD from some segments of VCR tape on my Magnavox DVD/VCR recorder.
I dubbed 6 different sections so 6 titles were listed. I finalized the DVD
and inserted it into my computer to convert one of the segments to mpeg with
AVS conversion software.

However, when the conversion program promted me to browse, the titles on the
DVD came up as :

Video_TS.IFO
VTS_01_0 IFO

and that was it. It did not have the 6 tracks for me to choose from. I have
been given DVD's made from a different DVD/VCR recorder and all of the tracks
in the title menu were also listed when I browsed with the conversion program
so I could choose to covert one track rather than the whole DVD. I have
talked to Maganvox tech support but they are not familiar with conversion and
could not help me.

Do any of you have an idea as to why this is happening? Looking forward to
your replies. Thanks

Thanks, but they did not help. The DVD that I tried to convert with the 6
titles that I made from the recorder (see below) did not have the standard
file structure showing 6 different files listed, when I browsed to convert.
It just had what I listed below. It somehow merged all of the separate titles
on the title menu into one file so I would have to look at the entire DVD to
find what I want instead of clicking on one vob or ifo file to take me to the
place that I wanted to convert.

When using a DVD/VCR recorder that is recording from a VCR tape to the DVD,
after the DVD is written to the DVD it must be finalized so that it can play
on another DVD player. But that is not the problem. I don't know how else to
explain it than what I have written previously. The only thing that I can
think of is that this Maganvox recorder formats all of the titles on the
Title menu as one file so the entire file must to viewed to get one part of
it to convert.

An Emerson recorder formats the DVD so that all of the titles on the Title
menu, each have a separate file so that just one title can be chosen to
convert.
