.WMM stopped working

I've been using WMM2 for awhile now, with no problems. But recently it has
stopped responding, WMP will not play the preview, error message "Class not
registered" appears. When trying to add titles, credits etc to a movie, the
programme freezes. the movies are all in .avi format. I've tried the codec
renamer but no joy there either.

That comes under the heading "Crash", see the FAQ I post in here on a
frequent basis for your solution.....make sure you follow the steps
described exactly.

If you cannot even play DV AVI files then try executing the following line
on Start->Run dialog by copying pasting it.

regsvr32 %windir%\system32\qdv.dll

try a system restore to go back in time to when it was working fine.

Thanks guys, I've followed each step in the FAQ thread, but still no go with
WMM2. The problem is still there, WMP10 will play the avi's outside of WMM2
but not in WMM2. I'll just have to find another editor, thanks again guys....
