Wireless Network Card.

I am trying to set up a home network. However after installing a Belkin
F5D7000 Wireless Desktop Network Card I get the following error: PCI Simple
Communications Controller Error.. Search For Drivers. I have the
installation disk and I have tried manually pointing the Hardware Wizard to
the file, but it will still not pick up the drivers. I have the latest
drivers from Belkin - no joy.

This is the second card I have tried and after installing into another
computer it worked fine. However the machine I am trying to install onto is
older. Pentium III 450 on a B7XAN Motherboard. O/S Windows xp pro.

I noticed after removing the Network card upon re booting the wizard was
still trying to install the "PCI SIMPLE COMMUNICATIONS CONTROLLER ERROR..
SEARCH FOR DRIVER" even though the card was no longer fitted.

Searching Google for a cure I came across Ms.Public.win200 and a guy with
the same problem said it could be problems with a failed update in Office
2000 ??????? something to do with .dll's.

Help would be much appreciated.

Whats up man, i'm having the same trouble. My system is a P3 700 Mhz.
It's weird this things happen. If I find any solutions to this, i will
post them here. In my case it worked fine but one day it stoped working
correctly. I reinstalled windows and no luck. I took my card to another
computer, in this case even an older one and it worked fine!!
I'll post any solutions i have.

I had the same problem. My card showed up with the yellow ? in device mgr. I
have a disk w/ drivers, but XP wouldn't allow me to load them off the CD. I
muddled thru and finally got them loaded. I can't explain it but here's how
I did it. In device MGR, I went thru the steps and checked the alternate
location (bottom small box). It opens up all the devices XP has drivers for.
I highlighted Network devices. Mine was not there but this action changed
the appearance of the icon in device MGR. I then got out of device mgr.
Opened up the CD chose "load drivers" and bang, it took. When I tried this
procedure before the icon change it did not work. Don't ask me how or why.
Try it,
