WinXP License Issue

Hello,

I own a copy of WinXP Pro Retail, and I am not using it. A friend just
acquired an Athlon 64 System with out an OS. I was going to give it to
him but I wont him to use the full 64 bit functionality. I am curios;
can the key I have for the 32bit version of winxp work on the x64 copy,
and will it work on the trial download?

Thanks,
Phant

The "32bit" key is traded in for a new x64 key. Please be aware there is
not nearly the hardware driver support for the x64 version as there is
for the 32 bit version. Make sure to have 64 version drivers for
everything you want to use before you make the switch.

No, the 32-bit WinXP Product Key won't work for the WinXPx64
installation, and especially not for a trial version.
