winxp doesn't see a mp4 player usb device

When i connect my mp4 player device to the usb port winxp doesn't see it.
Viceversa de device give me the message "connect". But i cannot use it
because no "external drive" is added.

What is the problem?

Is it being recognized on another computer running XP? Did the MP4 device
come with a special driver? Does the USB port you are connecting the device
to working?

only tried with another laptop and , after 2-3 times it stopped too to
recognize the player .

yes, i usually use the same ports for other devices and they work well...

does it can play normally. you can listen music? just computer can
not see it? if this. may be your mp4 player meet unusual trouble. lost
programme. you need to contact with your supplyer to repair it,
